Why is there a smell coming from the roof or underfloor space through the ceiling diffusers after the installation?
Smells can occur temporarily when the system is first installed. This will clear in time. If the problem still persists after two to three weeks of the installation, please call us.
Why can I hear noises from the fan?
In the dead of night you may be able to hear a soft ‘hum’ from certain rooms in your house, but it is unusual that you would hear it operating during the day. If the system is making loud and unusual noises, it may indicate that the fan is damaged or worn and you should call us.
How will the system know what to do?
The system has been developed to constantly read either the roof space or inside the home depending on the system (balanced air or positive pressure) temperature exceeding pre-set cut-out levels. When the roof space or home is cooler, the system will automatically turn on and introduce the air in to the home. The system knows what to do and when to do it.
We have pets and sometimes the house smells like pets. Will this help?
By ventilating the home, the whole house air changes many times during the day. Not many smells will linger after this.
How long does it take to install?
Every house is different, but on average a system installation takes 3-4 hours.
How long will it take before I notice a difference?
You will notice a difference within days of the installation: fresher, cleaner smell in a normally locked up house. Depending on the house, you will notice improvements as each day passes by. As time passes, your home will be drier and healthier.
Why isn’t there any air coming out of the ceiling diffuser?
The most likely reason is that the system has automatically switched off due to the roof space temperature exceeding pre-set cut-out levels. If this is the case, your system will automatically begin operating once the roof-space temperature falls.
You can check to see if the fan is working or check the filter as it may be clogged, preventing sufficient air through the ceiling outlets. If the problem is still occurring and condensation is appearing, please get in touch with us.
How often should I change my filter?
This should be done yearly to ensure the best air flow. If the filter is blocked, this will affect the performance of the system and the five-year warranty conditions.
I changed my filter and now my fan is noisy.
With the filter being blocked, this will affect the air flow once the filter has been changed. More air flow will pass through the fan. The noise may be a sign that the fan is damaged or worn from use and may need replacing.
How long will the system last for?
The fan and control pads have a life span of 7-10 years. If they are not under the five-year warranty, then a cost will be involved. The Ambience systems do not require you to upgrade to replace or repair the control pad or fan, making the maintenance affordable.
